Topic: “It’s Not Your Bubbie’s Missionary Anymore”
Cost of Dinner: $18 - catered dinner will be served - dietary laws will be observed.
Ruth Guggenheim helped establish the groundwork for Jews for Judaism and has always maintained a strong commitment to their work.  The mission of Jews of Judaism is to strengthen and preserve Jewish identity though education and counseling that counteracts deceptive proselytizing targeting Jews for conversions.

Baltimore Hebrew Congregation
-Monday March 5, 2012
, BHC will host its 52nd Annual Interfaith Day.  This year's topic is "Religious Responses to Economic Realities."  Three keynote speakers will talk about how the economy has met the the growing needs in our community and what social services agencies provide.  Speakers include: Barbara Levy Gradet, Executive Director of Jewish Community Services; Major Barry Corbitt, Baltimore Area Commander, Salvation Army; Rev. R. Kevin Hooks; and Rabbi Andrew Busch, Baltimore Hebrew congregation. 
Registration: 9:30am. Program: 10:00am to 2:00pm
Cost: $12.00 includes a bag lunch.

 -Thursday, March 8th- at 1 p.m. Baltimore Hebrew Congregation will sponsor a program with Dr. Steven R. Gambert, Director of Geriatric Medicine, University of Maryland Medical Center, who will be speaking on Falls, Fractures, and Traumatic Injury in Older Adults: How to Avoid Them.  The program is open to everyone. Beth El Sisterhood
Sunday May 6th and Monday May 7th
- Unique Boutique.  There will be clothing and jewelry for women, toys, home accessories, gifts for Mother's Day and graduation, flowers, and personalized items.  Food will be served in the Boutique Cafe.

Beth Tfiloh Sisterhood

-Zumba Classes are held Monday at 8:30am and Wednesday at 8:45am in the high school dance studio.  Classes are designed for all ages and physical abilities.  Class fees:  Sisterhood members $4.00; nonmembers $7.00.

 

-Multisisterhood  Luncheon:  On Tuesday March 20, Beth Tfiloh sisterhood will join several other sisterhoods at Moses Montefiore Anshe Emunah for lunch, entertainment, and fundraising boutique presentations.  Festivities begin at 11:00am.

Moses Montefiore Anshe Emunah

-Multi-sisterhood luncheon on Tuesday, March 20th at 11:00 am.  Join us for a catered lunch, entertainment and serveral fundraising boutique presentations.

 

-On Tuesday, April 17th at 1:00pm, Sisterhood presents "Ben Ezra Synagogue of Old Cairo and Cairo Geniza," a fascinating history of medieval Jewish communities with Amy Landau, curator of the Walters Art Museum.  She is the curator of Islamic Arts at the Walters and will discuss the latest curatorial-conservation research on this panel from the Torah ark that is believed to have come from the famous Ben Ezra Synagogue of Old Cairo Egypt.  There is a $5.00 charge for the lecture and dessert meeting.  For all M.M.A.E. events, please contact Rochelle Bohrer 410-922-9672.
